Rafael unveils new mini-UAV

The new aircraft is a member of the SkyLite family of tactical intelligence UAVs.

Rafael Armament Development Authority Ltd. today held a demonstration of its new tactical mini-unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), intended for use by the IDF.

The new mini-UAV is a member of the SkyLite family of UAVs for tactical intelligence for field units and special forces, using a range of electrical and optical sensors. The new mini-UAV is designed for infantry units up to battalion size. It can loiter over the battlefield for over 90 minutes in all weather conditions. The new mini-UAV’s main innovation is its ability to be reused immediately, thanks to a parachute and cushion landing system and more reliable launching mechanism.

During the demonstration, held in difficult weather conditions, Rafael showed the IDF the mini-UAV’s capabilities to collect real-time intelligence for infantry units, its potential, and ability to handle different operational missions, including urban combat and general combat scenarios.
