BATM wins contract with leading telecom supplier

BATM Advanced Communications Ltd. (LSE: BVC), which designs and supplies IP packet-based systems, announced today that it had won a long-term contract with a leading telecommunications supplier.

BATM will supply telecom grade equipment that facilitates massive capacity of switching and routing including full IPV6, strict elements of traffic shaping and quality of service. This equipment can simultaneously handle voice, video and data channels at a very high speed of 10Gbps.

The pilot, utilizing BATM’s equipment, is expected to run during 2006-2007, with full scale deployment starting in 2008. BATM estimates that, once full-scale deployment commences, it will have a substantial impact on sales (likely to amount to several tens of millions of dollars and in excess of $10 million annually) and future profitability.
