Average R&D salary up 10.3% to NIS 20,500 in January

The average salary in the four key high-tech sectors in January was 2.3-2.7 times the average national gross salary.

The average salary in the four key high tech sectors was 2.3 - 2.7 times the average national gross salary of NIS 7,614 in January 2006, the Central Bureau of Statistics reported today. Average salaries in high-tech sectors rose by 0.8-10.3% in January 2006.

The highest average high-tech salary in January 2006 was in the R&D sector, at NIS 20,500, up 10.3% or NIS 1,911 on December 2005.

The average salary in the IT sector rose 8.1%, or NIS 1,360 to NIS 18,085 in January from NIS 16,725 in December 2005. The average salary in the telecommunications equipment sector rose 0.8% or NIS 140 to NIS 17,677 in January from NIS 17,537 in December.

The average salary in the advanced medical and scientific equipment sector fell 4.4% or NIS 805 to NIS 17,489 in January 2006 from NIS 18,194 in December 2005. This was also lower than the average salary of NIS 17,883 in January 2005.
