High-tech salaries up in February

The average salary in high-tech sectors rose by 2.2-10.7%.

The average salary in high-tech sectors rose by 2.2-10.7% in February 2006, the Central Bureau of Statistics reported today. The highest average high-tech salary in February was in the R&D sector, at NIS 21,350, up 3.7% or NIS 775 compared with the average salary of NIS 20,790 in January. The average salary in the electronic telecommunications equipment sector increased 10% or NIS 1,878 to NIS 19,413.

The average salary in the advanced medical and scientific equipment sector increased 2.2% or NIS 378 in February to NIS 17,881. The average salary in the computer services sector, on the other hand, unexpectedly fell by 5.7% or NIS 1,044 to NIS 17,246, after rising 9.2% in January to NIS 18,290 (compared with the December average of NIS 16,753).

The average salary in some high-tech sectors increased by 10-14% in January-February 2006. Average salaries in the high-tech sector were 2.3-2.9 times higher than the national average salary of NIS 7,490 in February.
