Press-Sense expands collaboration with Xerox

Press-Sense’s income from the long-term collaboration with Xerox is expected to exceed $10 million.

Israeli start up Press-Sense has expanded its cooperation with print technology giant Xerox. A week ago, the company reached an OEM agreement with Xerox Corporation (NYSE XRX) under which Press-sense will provide Xerox with the latest version of Xerox Web Services software. Press-Sense’s income from the long-term collaboration with Xerox is expected to exceed $10 million.

Press-Sense was founded in 2001 by CTO Amir Karby as a spin off from ProImage, which was sold to Agfa-Gevaert BV (Brussels: AGFA) in 2001. It develops business flow automation solutions for the digital print industry. The company’s solutions focus primarily on the print-on-demand market.

Press-Sense began collaborating with Xerox in 2003, with the announcement by both companies of a new Xerox product that simplifies print-on-demand processes and enables the integration of Xerox products in printing presses. The latest collaboration between the companies enables Xerox to provide software that enables printing direct from the Internet. Xerox has integrated Press-sense's iWay Prime solution into its Web Services software. Customers will be able to use the solution to confirm or purchase printing jobs from a printing press through the company’s website.

According to Karby, the collaboration represents a substantial step forward for Press-Sense. “Xerox took a strategic decision to choose us as the leading company in this field having realized that it would better to sell the product as part of their package they offer to printing presses. It is now understood that the word ability refers to a company’s capability in the ordering and execution and management of the print process.”
