Omintech and One in Maccabi computer contract

The two companies will jointly supply the health fund with IT systems worth $3 million.

Sources inform ''Globes'' that Malam Team Ltd. (TASE: MLTM) subsidiary Omnitech-Eichut Ltd. (TASE: OMNI) and One1 Software Technologies Ltd. (TASE: ONE) have jointly won a $3 million tender to supply Maccabi Health Services, Israel's second largest health fund, with desktop computers, servers, printers, and other peripherals.

Maccabi publishes a tender for new equipment every few years. Israel's health funds have carried out an extensive upgrade of their software and communications infrastructure in recent years, followed by extensive procurement of desktop workstations. As a result, both administrative and professional staff at health funds now overwhelmingly use these systems to access patient data.

With all hospitals and health funds set to provide access to patient data under the framework of the medical informatics project, every doctor will have to ensure he/she has access to their IT systems. As a result, health funds are likely to step up their procurement of computers and servers as the new information highway takes shape.
