Sun launches start-up partnership in Israel

Sun VP Juan Carlos Soto: I don't think we ever left the start-up market. We were always there.

"I don't think that we ever left the start-up market. We were always there," said Sun Microsystems VP Marketing Development Juan Carlos Soto, as he presented Sun's new program in Israel for collaboration with Israeli start-ups.

Although Sun launched the program slightly after its competitors (IBM, Oracle, Microsoft and others,) it did so with grand intentions for the future.

The program itself offers start-ups the opportunity to collaborate with Sun and the Office of the Chief Scientist, so that initial stage companies will benefit from the support of the Chief Scientist and broad technical support from Sun by means of reduced price software and hardware as well as additional services.

Soto noted "Although in Israel there are several alternatives, in many places in the world there are no other offers for start-ups except for us".
