A pilot program is set to launch in Copenhagen.
The Danish government is expected to announce tomorrow that it will introduce Shai Agassi's electric card venture Project Better Place in the country. Israel Corp. (TASE: ILCO) is a major backer of the project.
Denmark will probably initially launch a pilot program in Copenhagen and other locations to examine the feasibility of the project. It may also be possible to harness the country's wind turbines for the electric cars' recharging stations.
As "Globes" was the first to report, the Danish government has been reviewing Project Better Place for several months, and government officials recently visited Israel to examine the electric cars. A prototype of the electric based on a Renault Megane chassis was also sent to Denmark.
