Israir launches Moscow route

The airline is waiting for the pending cancellation of visa requirements between Israel and Russia.

Israir Airlines and Tourism Ltd. will inaugurate its Tel Aviv-Moscow route in June. The airline will make two weekly charter flights, on Monday and Friday, using Airbus 320s. Israir decided to inaugurate the route after applying for designated carrier status on it, and in expectation of the reciprocal visa waiver that is due to come into effect.

Israir CEO Guy Rosen predicted that the airline would shortly obtain designated carrier status on the Tel Aviv-Moscow route, which would enable it to increase the flight frequency. The airline believes that the cancellation of visas will greatly boost tourism between Russia and Israel. The airline's target audience includes immigrants from Russia and neighboring countries who will make family visits, businesspeople, and Russian tourists to Israel.
