Ben Gurion University closes for weekend

Students returned home.

The decision to close schools and kindergartens in Beersheva following the Tuesday night's strikes by Hamas rockets, proved to be a life-saver. A Grad rocket fired from Gaza hit a school in Beersheva's A Neighborhood in the morning

Although Ben Gurion University of the Negev originally had decided to remain open, it later agreed to IDF Home Front Command orders and will not hold classes in the city. University president Prof. Rivka Carmi said that the university changed its decision because of the uncertainty about Beersheva coming in range of Hamas rockets. After a four-hour meeting, the university administration decided to suspend classes until Sunday.
