Jerusalem Planning C'ttee nixes Hadassah biotech park

The mountain ridge adjacent to Hadassah Hospital will be kept as forest.

The Jerusalem Regional Planning and Building Commission has advised the national planning commission to cancel a planned biotechnology park and 1,800-unit residential project adjacent to Hadassah Medical Organization in Ein Kerem. The decision was taken after the commission heard objections to the proposed plan.

The cancellation will keep the area as forest. The commission agreed with, among others, objections to the plan filed by the Israel Land Administration (ILA), which opposed rezoning the mountain ridge slated for the plan from open space to municipal space. The commission accepted part of the objection, and decided to rezone only part of the area for building.
