90% of Israeli teens use Internet

Israel has 4.3 million Internet users over the age of 13.

The penetration rate of the Internet in Israel continues to rise. 250,000 new users were added last year, bringing the number of Israeli Internet users over the age of 13 to 4.3 million at the end of 2008, according to the TIM/Teleseker survey.

The survey found that 77% of Jewish households had Internet access at the end of 2008, up from 73% in 2007. 71% of Israeli Jews over the age of 18% surf the web. 56% of Israelis over 50 surf the web, while 90% of Israelis aged 13-17 do so.

16% of households have just one surfer, 32% have two surfers, and 51% have three or more. A breakdown by demographics found that 51% of Israeli Internet users are men and 49% are women. 81% of people with a higher education use the Internet, compared with 71% of the general population.
