Mazor sells medical robotic system in Russia

The hospital surgeon who will use the SpineAssist visited Israel to undergo training in its use with Israeli surgeons.

Mazor Surgical Technologies Ltd. (TASE:MZOR) has sold another SpineAssist robotic surgical device to a Russian hospital for $330,000. The sale includes disposable peripheral kits for carrying out 60 procedures in the first year of operation.

The sale was completed after the hospital surgeon who will use the SpineAssist visited Israel to observe operations and undergo training in its use with Israeli surgeons.

Mazor's Russian distributor recently convened senior Russian spine surgeons to demonstrate a SpineAssist installed at a Moscow hospital a few months ago. The surgeons witnessed three procedures and underwent training with the device.

Mazor's share rose 2.8% by midday to NIS 7.80, giving a market cap or NIS 158 million.
