Surgical device co JetGuide seeks $2m funding

The company wants to conduct clinical trials for its neurosurgical device for drilling the bones and tissues of the skull.

Sources inform "Globes" that Haifa-based surgical device company JetGuide Ltd. is seeking $2 million in funding for clinical trials.

JetGuide has received approval to conduct clinical trials for its JetGuide Neuro device, which is used by surgeons in Rambam Hospital's Department of Neurosurgery to compare with existing devices. The device is used for bone drilling in skulls and soft tissues.

JetGuide has graduated from the Misgav Technological Incubator. JetGuide claims that its system is easy to use, cost effective and is more accurate because it takes the guesswork out of drilling into a bone.

The company's first product for tooth implants is expected to soon receive approval for the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
