Thu: Tel Aviv 25 up 2% on week

Mellanox jumped 27% after publishing far better than predicted financials but Teva lost ground.

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) rose today. The Tel Aviv 25 Index rose 0.90% to 1,153. 11 points, the Tel Aviv 100 Index rose 0.68% to 1,058.69 points, and the BlueTech 50 Index rose 3.33% to 329.42 points. Turnover was NIS 867 million.

In the bond market, both long-term Shahar unlinked government bonds fell by up to 0.1%, and long-term Galil CPI-linked bonds rose by up to 0.2%. The corporate bond benchmark Tel-Bond 60 Index rose 0.1%.

In the foreign currency market, the Bank of Israel set the shekel-dollar representative exchange rate at NIS 3.762/$, down 0.19% on yesterday's rate, and set the shekel-euro exchange rate at NIS 4.935/€, up 0.08%.

In the stock market, Mellanox Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq:MLNX; TASE:MLNX) jumped 27%, for the biggest gain among Tel Aviv 25 shares, and on the biggest turnover of NIS 97 million, after publishing double-digit revenue and profit growth for the first quarter. Its high-tech peer on the index, NICE Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: NICE; TASE: NICE), was unchanged.

Israel Chemicals Ltd. (TASE: ICL) rose 2.8% and its parent company Israel Corporation (TASE: ILCO) rose 2.1%. Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Nasdaq: TEVA; TASE: TEVA) fell 1.3%, but Perrigo Company (Nasdaq:PRGO; TASE:PRGO) rose 0.9%.

HOT Telecommunication Systems Ltd. (TASE: HOT) fell 2.3% after falling 4.9% yesterday. DS Brokerage says that the risk surrounding HOT is growing, and downgraded its recommendation to "Underperform"

Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) fell 1.5%, and mobile carriers Cellcom Israel Ltd. (NYSE:CEL; TASE:CEL) and Partner Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: PTNR; TASE: PTNR) fell 1.9% and 1%, respectively.

The banks also continued to slide, led by a 0.9% drop by Bank Hapoalim (TASE: POLI) and 1.1% drop by Bank Leumi (TASE: LUMI).

Alvarion Ltd. (Nasdaq: ALVR; TASE: ALVR) rose 4.4% after replacing its CEO.
