The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) fell today. The Tel Aviv 25 Index fell 0.34% to 1,189.67 points, the Tel Aviv 100 Index fell 0.11% to 1,069.56 points, and the BlueTech 50 Index fell 0.39% to 299.07 points. Turnover was NIS 1.49 million.
The TASE fell today, despite gains on European markets and at the opening on Wall Street. The Tel Aviv 25 Index fell 1.8% for the week.
In the foreign currency market, the Bank of Israel set the shekel-dollar representative exchange rate at NIS 3.648/$, up 0.88% on yesterday's rate, and set the shekel-euro exchange rate at NIS 4.749/€, up 0.78%.
In the bond market, both long-term Shahar unlinked shekel government bonds and long term Galil CPI-linked government rose. The corporate bond benchmark Tel-Bond 20 Index rose 0.28%.
In the stock market, telcos corrected downwards. Mobile carriers Partner Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: PTNR; TASE: PTNR) fell 3.2% and Cellcom Israel Ltd. (NYSE:CEL; TASE:CEL) fell 0.3%, while Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) fell 0.4%.
Elbit Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: ESLT; TASE: ESLT) fell 3.6% for the biggest loss among Tel Aviv 25 shares.
Perrigo Company (NYSE:PRGO; TASE:PRGO) and Isramco Ltd. (Nasdaq: ISRL; TASE: ISRA.L) both rose 1.1% to buck the market.
Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NYSE: TEVA; TASE: TEVA) rose 0.3% on the day's biggest turnover of NIS 179 million.
Elsewhere in the market, Rami Levy Chain Stores Hashikma Marketing 2006 Ltd. (TASE:RMLI) rose 1.2%, after its controlling shareholder Rami Levy sold another bloc of shares in his company.
IDB Holding Corp. Ltd. (TASE:IDBH) rose 1%, after chairman Nochi Dankner promised a big investment soon in the company.
Mazor Robotics Ltd. (Nasdaq: MZOR; TASE:MZOR) fell 1.5%, after announcing the sale of a second robotic navigation surgical system in the US in as many days. Small-Cap Aposense Ltd. (TASE: APOS) rose 29.1%, after obtaining a US patent for its molecule for the treatment of cancer.
