Thu: Tel Aviv 25 down 0.4% on week

Israel Chemicals continued its correction while Bezeq was today's biggest loser on the Tel Aviv 25.

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) rose today. The Tel Aviv 25 Index rose 0.20% to 1,202.85 points, the Tel Aviv 100 Index rose 0.11% to 1,097.66 points, but the BlueTech 50 Index fell 1.05% to 312.59 points. Turnover was NIS 939.1 million.

An afternoon rally fizzled in late trading, but the TASE still rose today, snapping its slide, in line with gains on European markets and at the opening on Wall Street. The Tel Aviv 25 Index fell another 0.4% for the week, after today's rally failed to make up for earlier losses.

In the foreign currency market, the Bank of Israel set the shekel-dollar representative exchange rate at NIS 3.539/$, down 0.478% on yesterday's rate, and set the shekel-euro representative exchange rate at NIS 4.728/€, down 0.51%.

In the bond market, long-term Shahar unlinked shekel government bonds and long term Galil CPI-linked government bonds were mixed. The corporate bond benchmark Tel-Bond 20 Index rose 0.06%.

In the stock market, Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) fell 3.3%, for the biggest loss among Tel Aviv 25 shares. Israel Chemicals Ltd. (TASE: ICL) rose 1.5% on the biggest turnover of NIS 192.1 million, 20% of the total turnover, and parent company, Israel Corporation (TASE: ILCO), rose 2.2% for the biggest gain among Tel Aviv 25 shares.

On the Tel Aviv 100 Index, Shufersal Ltd. (TASE:SAE) was unchanged, after publishing profit growth, and Tower Semiconductor Ltd. (Nasdaq: TSEM; TASE: TSEM) fell 7.1%, after reporting poor results.

Small-cap Biocancell Therapeutics Ltd. (TASE:BICL) fell 22.5%, after announcing that it could not find a strategic partner for its bladder and pancreatic cancer drug. Troubled Habas HZ Investments Ltd. (TASE: HABS) rose 32.1% on a new offer.
