1,000 homes in Tel Aviv urban renewal projects approved

The three urban renewal projects include almost 1,000 apartments in south Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan, and Bat Yam.

The Tel Aviv Regional Planning and Building Commission has approved for deposit for public objections three vacate-and-build projects for almost 1,000 apartments in the metropolitan area.

The first plan is for a lot on La Guardia Street in south Tel Aviv. Three old railway apartment buildings with 72 apartments will be replaced by 275 apartments in three seven and eight-floor buildings.

The second plan is for a lot on Harari Street in Ramat Gan. Seven buildings with 70 apartments will be replaced with 280 apartments in three 22-storey buildings and a 12-storey building. The project will also include a kindergarten and daycare center. One fifth of the projects units will be small apartments. This is the fourth urban renewal project in the city's Neve Yehoshua neighborhood.

The third project is on Hagiborim Street in Bat Yam. Twelve old buildings will be replaced with 416 apartments in ten buildings, including a 35-storey high-rise. The project also includes commercial space, public institutions, underground parking, and open spaces.
