Wed: Stocks fall again

Teva was the day's most heavily traded stock, and pulled the market down, while Bezeq was the biggest blue-chip gainer.

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) fell today. The Tel Aviv 25 Index fell 0.06% to 1,363.86 points, the Tel Aviv 100 Index fell 0.33% to 1,218.50 points, and the BlueTech 50 Index fell 0.36% to 326.07 points. Turnover was NIS 1.17 billion.

The TASE fell again today, in line with losses on European markets and at the opening on Wall Street.

In the foreign currency market, the Bank of Israel set the shekel-dollar representative exchange rate at NIS 3.522/$, down 0.03% on yesterday's rate, and set the shekel-euro representative exchange rate at 4.786/€, up 0.08%.

In the bond market, long-term Shahar unlinked shekel government bonds and long term Galil CPI-linked government fell. The corporate bond benchmark Tel-Bond 20 Index fell 0.06%

In the stock market, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NYSE: TEVA; TASE: TEVA) fell 0.6%, on the day's biggest turnover of NIS 73 million, after announcing that it will launch Copaxone in Japan.

Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) rose 2% for the biggest gain among Tel Aviv 25 shares, but Partner Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: PTNR; TASE: PTNR) fell 3.6% for the biggest loss on the index. Cellcom Israel Ltd. (NYSE:CEL; TASE:CEL) fell 1.7%.

Tamar Southwest partners Delek Group Ltd. (TASE: DLEKG) fell 1.1% but its subsidiaries Avner Oil and Gas LP (TASE: AVNR.L) and Delek Drilling LP (TASE: DEDR.L) rose 0.2% and 0.1%, respectively; Isramco Ltd. (Nasdaq: ISRL; TASE: ISRA.L) fell 0.6%, and Ratio Oil Exploration (1992) LP (TASE:RATI.L) fell 1%, after declaring a natural gas discovery shortly before the market closed.

On the Tel Aviv 100 Index, Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. (Nasdaq: GILT; TASE: GILT) was unchanged, after completing the sale of a subsidiary and cutting its full-year revenue guidance to $230 million

Elsewhere in the market, small-cap Therapix Biosciences Ltd. (TASE: TRPH) (formerly NasVax) rose 13.9%, after announcing a memorandum of understanding to merge with Viropro Inc. (Bulletin Board: VIRO), and Globe Exploration LP (TASE: GLEX.L) fell 49%, after announcing that no oil was found at its Ofek 2 well.
