The decision follows an approach by Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv
Minister of Communications Ehud Olmert yesterday told ultra-orthodox weekly "Shavu'on Haharedi Lamishpaha" that he had decided to block erotic calls from wireless telephones.
The decision follows an appeal by Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv, considered the leading authority of his generation, and a leader the Degel Hatorah party of non-hassidic haredi (ultra-orthodox) Jewry.
Olmert added that in response to a second request from Rabbi Elyashiv, he had decided to again issue summons for businesses open on Saturday, beginning on March 1.
