ECI Telecom gets $16m follow-on order from IDF

The order was placed by Ministry of Defense to provide additional XDM optical equipment to the Israel Defense Forces.

ECI Telecom (Nasdaq: ECIL) today announced that it has received a new $16 million order from the Ministry of Defense to provide additional XDM optical equipment to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

This agreement follows the successful installation of ECI equipment from a previous order for deployment of the IDF's optical backbone.

The additional XDM equipment enables the IDF to increase its core network's bandwidth and supply high capacity services to its headquarters and military bases as well as to various units.

"To be selected again by the IDF for our next-generation optical solutions exemplifies ECI's ability to deliver a state-of-the-art network for a world-leading military organization," said ECI Telecom president and CEO Doron Inbar. "We're proud that our technology has played a part in the expansion of the IDF's impressive network. We look forward to continuing to support their needs and work closely with them for their future network expansion."
