Initial discussions on the sole bid will probably be within three months.
The Shlomo Ben-Tzvi-Ami Giniger group is the only bidder in the tender for the Jewish Heritage Channel published by the Council for Cable and Satellite Broadcasting. Last night was the deadline for submitting bids. As first reported by “Globes”, the entry by Taya Communications Ltd. (TASE:TYCO) chairman Ami Giniger greatly surprised both industry sources and the Council for Cable and Satellite Broadcasting.
The Council for Cable and Satellite Broadcasting published the tender for Jewish Heritage Channel in February, but subsequently postponed the deadline for bids, in order to allow more groups to participate.
The Ben-Tzvi-Giniger bid is now being sent to Council for Cable and Satellite Broadcasting, content, and economic advisors. The council will probably meet within three months for its first discussion on the sole bid.
Giniger is also holding negotiations to become a partner in Channel 10, together with Mordechai (Motti) Zisser.
