MSI puts LucidLogix chip on motherboard

Despite the patch affair, Taiwan's MSI has signed a deal with Israel's LucidLogix.

Despite recent bitter experience with Israeli companies, such as the SafeSky scandal, Taiwanese computer hardware manufacturer Micro-Star International (MSI) Co. Ltd. (TSE: 2377) is nevertheless hooking up with an Israeli start-up.

Last month, two Israeli businessmen, Dr. Amos Buchnik and Arik Klein claimed to have signed a deal with MSI for their innovative medical patch. MSI denied the claim.

According to Israeli website IOpanel.net, MSI is installing the Hydra chip of LucidLogix Technologies Ltd. on motherboards for new processors that will be launched soon.

LucidLogix, founded in 2003, develops SGH processors, which improve the performance of graphics cards and processors. The company has raised $34.5 million to date from Genesis Partners and Giza Venture Capital, Intel Capital, and Roh Ventures of the US. The Kfar Netter-based company has 60 employees.

IOpanel.net reports that LucidLogix's Hydra chip will connect graphics cards on the motherboard, thereby speeding up graphics processing for computer games and other applications.
