Camtek in Taiwanese and Japanese deals

Camtek's first sale of its Falcon 830 AOI system is reportedly to Taiwanese chip giant TSMC.

Camtek Ltd. (Nasdaq: CAMT; TASE:CAMT) has signed an exclusive marketing agreement for its automatic optical inspection (AOI) equipment with Canon Marketing Japan Inc., a vendor to Japan's semiconductor industry. Camtek's products will compliment Canon's product line.

Camtek also signed a deal for the sale of its first Falcon 830 AOI metrology and inspection solution for the 3D integration circuits to an unnamed Taiwanese foundry. The buyer is reportedly Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Ltd. (NYSE: TSM; TAIEX: 2330) (TSMC).

Camtek once only made AOI systems for integrated circuit boards, but has since expanded its product line into AOI systems for semiconductors.

Camtek's share rose 2.4% on Nasdaq on Friday to $2.99, giving a market cap of $87 million. The share rose 8.3% by early afternoon on the TASE to NIS 11.16.
