Printing technology co DigiFlex raises $2.35m

KLA Tencor chairman Kenneth Levy is one of the new investors in the flexograph printing technology start-up.

Technion Seed portfolio company DigiFlex Ltd. has raised $2.35 million from Teuza - A Fairchild Technology Venture Ltd. (TASE:TUZA), ProSeed Venture Capital Fund (TASE:PRSD), Battery Ventures, and KLA Tencor Corporation (Nasdaq: KLAC) founder and chairman Kenneth Levy.

DigiFlex was founded by CEO Uri Adler and Dr. Moshe Frankel in 2008. The company is developing flexographic printing plates that will serve as a low-cost and reliable inkjet alternative to expensive laser printers. Flexographic printing plates are mainly used for labels, cartons, and flexible packaging, such as plastic containers for dairy products.

Flexographic printing is considered a growing business, with global sales of $136 billion.

DigiFlex has appointed Dan Vilenski as chairman. He has previously served as chairman of Israel-United States Binational Industrial Research and Development Foundation (BIRD-F) and Applied Materials Israel Ltd.
