Multiphy in funding talks with Carmel Ventures, Vertex

The fabless semiconductor start-up is integrated circuits for high-speed optical communications.

Fabless semiconductor start-up Multiphy Ltd. is in talks to raise $7.2 million in a financing round from Carmel Ventures and current investors Vertex Venture Capital and parent company Maayan Ventures Ltd. (TASE:MAYN).

Multiphy is developing digital signal processing (DSP) based integrated circuits for high-speed optical communications at speeds of 40-100 Gbps. CTO Prof. Dan Sadot founded the company at the Maayan incubator in November 2006. MultiPhy graduated from Maayan April 2008. Maaayan owns 24.62% of the company (18.23% on a fully diluted basis).
