D Medical units win Canadian certification for diabetes devices

Spring Health Solutions has obtained Canadian Medical Devices Conformity Assessment System certification for its diabetes drug delivery system.

D Medical Industries Ltd. (Nasdaq: DMED); TASE:DMDC) subsidiary Spring Health Solutions Ltd. (formerly Nilimedix) has obtained Canadian Medical Devices Conformity Assessment System certification for its diabetes drug delivery system - Universal Detach Detect Infusion Sets. The company will apply for Health Canada approval of the device.

Spring Health Solutions obtained ISO 13485:2003 and ISO 9001:2008 certifications for the devices in February. The ISO certification is mandatory for obtaining Health Canada licensing of medical devices products.

D Medical CEO Efri Argaman said, "Achieving CMDCAS accreditation is a further endorsement of our approach to quality management. It will also allow us to move forward with the registration and commercialization of products, staring with our Universal Detach Detect Infusion Sets, in Canada, a country that has the sixth highest rate of Type 1 diabetes in children 14 years or younger in the world."

D Medical's share price closed at $3.60 on Nasdaq yesterday, giving a market cap of $28 million, and fell 0.3% in morning trading on the TASE today to NIS 11.88.
