Hapoalim launches special services to tech cos

Services will be aimed at both start-ups and mature companies.

Bank Hapoalim (TASE: POLI) chairman Yair Seroussi today confirmed at the a target=new href=http://www.iva.co.il/>High Tech Industry Association (HTIA) conference in Jerusalem last week's report by "Globes", that the bank was launching a Poalim High-Tech plan to offer services to high-tech companies. The bank will provide start-ups and mature companies services, including management of current accounts, credit cards, foreign trade advice, and foreign banking services.

Seroussi said, "Every year, we ask with concern whether the technology locomotive has become tired, and whether the global technology industry continues to grow. Can our technology companies and research institutions continue to drive export-oriented growth? The answer is, yes."

Seroussi added that Israel was suitable as a bridge between East and West, and that it must continue to direct itself as a region of ideas and R&D, "because that is the only way that we will succeed in maintaining our position as a developed economy that provides a high standard of living and quality of life for the country's citizens."

Seroussi believes that the foundation for this is building a top-quality education infrastructure that will generate a large number of researchers, engineers, and technicians each year.
