Doctors strike continues The doctors strike is continuing today. The doctors marching to Jerusalem will arrive at 11 am at the Rose Garden near the government complex in the capital, where they will hold a massive demonstration.

All government hospitals will operate on Saturday schedules today.

Israel Medical Association chairman Dr. Leonid Eidelson met President Shimon Peres this morning. Commenting on the wave of social protests, Peres said, "I am very excited by what is happening. This is a critical time for the nation, and the Israeli street has demands, but the noisy demonstrations are also cultural. It is everyone's duty to listen to what this generation is saying. It has the right to speak, and have the duty to listen and draw conclusions."

The doctors are calling on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to intervene in the dispute. He has avoided doing so until now, even though the doctors strike has now lasted for over 100 days.
