Erdoğan reiterates warships threat

In Tunis, the Turkish Prime Minister said, "Israel cannot do what it wants in the Mediterranean."

"Israel will yet see the results of our decisions. Our warships can be there at any time," said Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Tunis today, his second stop of his Arab Spring tour.

At a joint press conference with Tunisian Interim Prime Minister Beji Caid Essebsi, Erdoğan added, "Israel cannot do what it wants in the Mediterranean." Erdoğan has been making these threats within the context of his opposition to Israel's blockade of Gaza, and Noble Energy's plans to begin exploratory drilling of Cyprus's Block 12 license, which is immediately west of the Leviathan gas field, before the end of the month.
