Partner VP quits after just two months

Avi Zamir was appointed by outgoing Partner CEO Yacov Gelbard.

Partner Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: PTNR; TASE: PTNR) VP Human Resources Avi Zamir has quit the company just two months after taking up his post. Zamir, formerly head of the IDF Manpower Directorate, was appointed by outgoing Partner CEO Yacov Gelbard to replace Michal Dana, who left the company after five years.

Officially, Zamir is leaving after receiving an offer he could not refuse. Unofficially, sources at Partner believe that his departure is convenient given the appointment of Haim Romano to replace Gelbard. Romano can now put his own man as VP human resources to implement his plans for the mobile carrier.

Partner's share price fell 2% on Nasdaq yesterday to $9.70, giving a market cap of $1.51 billion, and fell a further 1% in after-hours trading. The share price fell 2.4% by midday on the TASE today to NIS 36.32.
