The Facebook application, which raised the funds from Tel-Ad Electronics, has launched its Bday Gift Finder.
Facebook birthday gift finding application Bday has raised $2 million in its first financing round from Tel-Ad Electronics Ltd. and launched its Bday Gift Finder. The company will use the proceeds to expand its technology and products.
Bday says that its Gift Finder takes the guesswork out of choosing the right gifts for friends and loved ones by recommending gift cards based not only on recipients' Facebook Likes but also a thorough analysis of the sentiment attached to those Likes. In contrast to current gift giving apps, Bday makes it possible for users to buy cards for both physical products, such as clothes and accessories, and virtual goods, such as online content and social games, to offer one of the largest selections of goods available on Facebook.
Bday COO Tomer Irge said, "Bday puts the fun back into gift giving by allowing friends to easily find the gift that counts - from Abercrombie to Zynga - no matter the occasion."
