Tower teams with Swiss co CSEM

The Swiss Center for Electronics and Microtechnology has joined Tower's Design Star Awards Program.

Specialty foundry Tower Semiconductor Ltd. (Nasdaq: TSEM; TASE: TSEM), which markets as TowerJazz, is expanding its European operations. Today, it announced that CSEM SA, the Swiss Center for Electronics and Microtechnology, has joined its Design Star Awards Program, a design center partnership program offered to leading independent design centers.

The program encourages independent design centers to have their products and customers use Tower's technologies. Through the collaboration, CSEM will be able to support its customers in an optimal way for applications such as RF, high performance analog, mixed-signal, power management, and in particular CMOS image/optical sensors.

CSEM’s experience in ultra-low power design, combined with Tower's specialty processers, will allow both companies to serve a wide range of customers targeting European markets.

“CSEM is a strong European design center and we look forward to working further with them and their customers through our Design Star Awards Program. As CSEM’s customers manufacture their products at TowerJazz, we will recommend our customers to design their products with CSEM,” said Tower VP design center Ori Galzur.

Tower's share price rose 2.6% by midday on the TASE today to NIS 2.91, after rising 1.4% on Nasdaq on Friday to $0.73, giving a market cap of $230 million.
