Samsung Galaxy S3 sales begin in Israel

MVNO Home Cellular began sales of the Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone on Friday, starting from NIS 3,700.

Mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) Home Cellular Ltd., owned by Fishman Holdings' Home Center Ltd. DIY chain, began sales of the Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone on Friday, under its Hmobile store label. Prices start at NIS 3,700 with 24 equal installments.

100 Galaxy S3's were sold in presales and more are in stock.

Home Cellular is the second carrier to publish a price for the Galaxy S3, following Pelephone Communications Ltd., which is offering the smartphone for NIS 4,208 in six installments, or NIS 4,680 in 36 installments. Pelephone, Cellcom Israel Ltd. (NYSE:CEL; TASE:CEL), Orange franchisee Partner Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: PTNR; TASE: PTNR),and HOT Mobile Ltd. are due to begin sales on Wednesday.

Retailer Best Mobile Ltd. will offer Galaxy S3's for NIS 3,680 in 24 installments, or NIS 3,890 in 36 installments.

Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. (KSX: 5380) authorized phone importer Suny Electronics Ltd. (TASE: SUNY), controlled by Ilan Ben Dov, presented the Galaxy S3 last Tuesday.

Industry sources expect Samsung to sell 30 million Galaxy S3's worldwide within six months.
