Yachimovich spoke in response to earlier remarks by Minister of Finance Yuval Steinitz at the conference opposing the social protest, where he said that the government would not hesitate to arrest demonstrators protesting against the business sector.
Yachimovich added, It is now clear that, from the outset, the Netanyahu government saw the protestors as a bother and threat to its economic policies, which widen social gaps and destroy the social safety net."
