Mobixell fires 10 more employees

The web accelerator company has fired employees in several waves of layoffs in the past three years.

Sources inform ''Globes'' that Mobixell Ltd. has fired ten more employees. One of Israel's veteran start-ups, mobile video optimization and web accelerator solutions developer, has fired employees in several waves of layoffs in the past three years. Most of the employees fired in the current wave are senior staff. The latest layoffs reduce the company's workforce to 180 from 250 in 2010, following its acquisition of US-based mobile Internet company 724 Solutions in January 2010.

Mobixell was founded in 2000 by CTO Yehuda Elimelech and Amir Aharoni, who was replaced as CEO by Klod Ghez a month ago. Founded to develop mobile multimedia solutions, the company has refocused over the past two years to improve the performance of mobile services providers in order to meet rising demand for video content by users.

The company has tens of millions of dollars in annual sales and is profitable.

Ghez said that the company was refocusing on sales. "I do not see more layoffs on the horizon. The company is aiming for stable activity, including in personnel, since it has greatly suffered from previous waves of layoffs. We want industrial quiet," he said.
