Former US Senator Joseph Lieberman has joined the New York office of law firm Kasowitz Benson Torres & Friedman LLP as senior counsel. The Democratic vice-presidential candidate in 2000, Senator Lieberman’s practice will focus on independent and internal investigations and advising clients on a wide range of public policy, strategic and regulatory issues.

He is also expected to play a significant role in client development globally, and in particular in Israel, where he is considered a strong supporter and warm friend. Senator Lieberman told "Globes," "The firm has a number of Israel-based clients with significant business interests in the US. I believe that I will be of assistance to these clients and others in Israel in advising them with respect to their expansion initiatives and business plans for the US."

Senator Lieberman served 24 years in the US Senate, retiring in January 2013 after the end of his fourth term. During his tenure, Senator Lieberman helped shape legislation in virtually every major area of public policy including national and homeland security, foreign policy, environmental protection, human rights, health care, trade, energy, cybersecurity and taxes.

Kasowitz Benson Torres & Friedman LLP has more than 375 lawyers in offices across the US, primarily focusing on complex commercial litigation.

Marc Kasowitz, the firm’s Founding and managing partner Marc Kasowitz said, "Senator Lieberman's incredible breadth of knowledge and experience will be a powerful resource."
