Two Israeli army patrol vehicles have been hit by anti-tank missiles. Two soldiers were killed and 7 injured.

The security situation on the northern border is heating up and for the first time the tension of recent days has resulted in IDF casualties. Reports say that two army patrol vehicles were hit by anti-tank missiles near the village of Rachaiya, on the Lebanese border in the Har Dov region. Two soldiers were killed snd seven injured. At the same time, mortar shells have been fired at nearby IDF positions. Residents of Metulla and the surrounding villages have been asked to remain in their homes.

The IDF has responded with heavy artillery fire.

This morning the IDF engineering corps carried out excavations near Moshav Zerait for fear that Hezbollah has dug tunnels in the region. The IDF stressed it had no intelligence information about tunnels but was acting on requests from local residents.

In addition, the Israeli Air Force attacked three Syrian army positions last night, according to reports in the Arab media.
