Border Police shot a 25-year-old Palestinian who fired towards their position during riots at the Shuafat neighborhood in East Jerusalem on Saturday night; he was wounded in serious condition.

Police said that during the riot, a terrorist cell approached the soldiers. One of them fired and was shot. A search of his body revealed a knife and bullet casings were founded. He was treated at the scene and evacuated by Magen David Adom to Hadassah Medical Center.

Earlier, a rocket fired from Gaza hit an open area in the Eshkol Regional Council; no injuries or damages were reported. The day before two rockets fired from Gaza fell short and landed in Palestinian territory.

Six Palestinians were killed and at least 145 others were wounded by IDF fire during riots that broke out yesterday at several locations near the security barrier separating the Gaza Strip from Israel. According to the Gazan Health Ministry, at least 28 of wounded were hurt by tear gas.

Last week two rockets were fired on Israeli territory. One fell within the Strip and the other landed in an open space within the Eshkon Regional Council. Afterwards, the Israeli Air Force attacked Hamas targets in the northern Strip. A Salafist organization identified with ISIS took responsibility for the rocket fire.
