The investigation into Israeli supermodel Bar Refaeli’s alleged tax evasion has expanded its scope.

The investigation into Israeli supermodel Bar Refaeli’s alleged tax evasion expanded its scope on Wednesday, when Israel Tax Authority agents arrived at the UBS offices in Herzliya requesting information, Channel 10 News reported Wednesday night. Furthermore, one Credit Suisse employee provided testimony on the matter Wednesday at the tax authority’s offices.

In December, it was cleared for publication that the tax authority was investigating a well-known supermodel who evaded taxes worth millions of shekels. Refaeli and her mother, Tzipi Refaeli, were arrested and later released on bail with strict restrictions limiting them to their homes.

The central allegation against Refaeli concerns her report to the tax authority on her place of residence which greatly influence her tax liability.

About a week ago, Adv. Amit Kriegel, Refaeli’s lawyer and former senior tax authority official, was questioned under caution at his former place of employment.

Kriegel, a partner of former tax authority general counsel Adv. Moshe Mizrachi at Mizrachi, Noach, Kriegel law firm, is under investigation for abetting Refaeli in evading taxes by illegally tax planning around her place of residence.
