Transport Minister Yisrael Katz has reversed the Israel Civil Aviation Authority decision to close the Carmel Forest airspace.

Last week Israel's Civil Aviation Authority announced that the airspace above Isrotel Ltd's (TASE: ISRO) Carmel Forest Spa Resort near Haifa would be closed this Thursday evening from 5pm to 2am Friday morning during the wedding of international supermodel Bar Refaeli and her billionaire businessman fiancé Adi Ezra, chairman of Neto ME Holdings Ltd. (TASE;NTO).

But now Minister of Transport Yisrael Katz has intervened and ordered the Civil Aviation Authority to keep the airspace open.

At the time Israel Police had expressed astonishment at the decision by the Civil Aviation Authority and one senior officer said, "With all due respect to Bar Refaeli, what will happen if we need to, for example, conduct an air chase after a suspect in the region, do you think we would seek approval from somebody? I've never known anything like this in all my years in the police force. I can't believe that the ordinary citizen would allow a thing like this."
