Businessman Amos Luzon has bought the A target=new href=http://www.dori.co.il/>Dori Group Ltd. (TASE: DORI), after Gazit-Globe Ltd. (NYSE: GZT; TASE: GLOB) announced yesterday evening that it would sell its holding in longstanding construction company U. Dori Construction Ltd. (TASE: DRCN). Gazit Globes' surprise decision led to a plunge in the share prices of Dori Group and U. Dori, of 83% and 77%.
Talking to Channel 2, Luzin said, "This is something that started this morning and was concluded this evening."
"I think Dori Group is a major group with a great many activities, and the business of U. Dori is only part of it. It is in the energy business, it has activity overseas, and many more companies," Luzon added.
How will you cover the debts
"The company does have a very problematic reputation, but we will succeed in upgrading the company and restoring it to center stage, and making it a leading company in Israel."
