Pinto has worked for the bank for 35 years and is a former head of the workers committee.

Bank Hapoalim (TASE: POLI) has appointed Arik Pinto as CEO to replace Zion Kenan who is stepping down. The appointment was announced today by the board of directors chaired by Yair Seroussi.

Pinto has risen through the ranks of the banks over the past 35 years and in the years leading up to 2002 he served as chairman of the workers committee. He moved over to management serving in many positions including, over the past seven years, VP retail banking and VP corporate strategy. In a corporate reorganization earlier this year by Kenan, Pinto was appointed Deputy CEO and COO, so that his appointment as CEO comes as no surprise.
