Boeing Int'l president: Israel long-term strategic partner

Shephard Hill has made a snap visit to Israel.

Boeing International president Shephard (Shep) Hill made a snap visit to Israel last Thursday and everyone who is, or was, anyone in the defense and civil aviation industry turned out. At the meeting, Hill said that Boeing considers Israel to be a long-term strategic partner in the defense and civil aviation industries. He added that this industrial collaboration in the inclusion of Israeli companies in major Boeing projects all over the world, and that Boeing considers it important that El Al Israel Airlines Ltd. (TASE: ELAL) is reequipping its fleet with nine Boeing 737-900 airliners.

The Israeli turnout included former Air Force commander and Boeing Israel president David Ivri, El Al chairman Amikam Cohen and new CEO David Maimon, Arkia Airlines Ltd. chairman Avi Nakash, Israel Aerospace Industries Ltd. (IAI) (TASE: ARSP.B1) chairman Rafi Maor and CEO Joseph Weiss, Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd. chairman Yitzhak Gat and CEO Yedidia Yaari, Israel Military Industries Ltd. (IMI) chairman Uri Adam and CEO Avi Felder, and Manufacturers Association of Israel president Zvika Oren.
