El Al Israel Airlines Ltd. (TASE: ELAL) has announced that starting today, it is offering cruise packages, including flights to one of its direct destinations and a cruise from there to destinations all over the world, such as the Caribbean Islands, Mediterranean basin, Baltic Sea, Norwegian fiords, Far East, etc.
The packages include cruises with leading companies: Royal Caribbean, Carnival, MSC, Norwegian Cruise Line, and others, at prices starting at $1,349.
El Al is cooperating in the venture with the Cruiseit company, which specializes in vacation cruises for Israelis.
El Al CEO David Maimon said, "The international cruise sector is one of the fastest growing in the tourism sector. El Al realized the potential of entering this market, and as an innovative company and Israeli tourism market leader, we decided to begin a unique venture offering vacations that combine flights and cruises on the world's most advanced ships. For the first time, we will offer an attractive and luxurious vacation to many diverse destinations in the world suitable for tourists from all population groups (young couples, families, senior citizens). The vacation will include a flight, hotels, shuttles to and from hotels, meals, and abundant entertainment and activities, all for a single price fixed in advance."
