Nine central bank governors received the top rating at the IMF and World Bank annual conference.
Governor of the Bank of Israel Karnit Flug met on the weekend with US Secretary of the Treasury Jacob Lew and central bank governors during the annual conference of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank taking place in Lima, Peru.
During the event, the "Global Finance" newspaper awarded Flug and eight other central bank governors an A rating. Following the ceremony, Flug said, "The Bank of Israel has a work team at the highest professional level, and I'm delighted that our work has again won appreciation in the international arena."
She added, "At the current time, the meetings with global financial institutions and colleagues from other countries enable us to gain an authentic impression of the developments in the world economy, to consult, and to hear firsthand assessments by policymakers and senior officials from the global financial sector in this context. No less important is the opportunity to present to the various parties the developments in the Israeli economy, and to answer questions about Israel's experience in coping with varying economic situations."
