Performing arts mobile app Chosen.fm has raised a few hundred thousand dollars in its first financing round, led by Rhodium Ventures, run by CEO Daniel Recanati, and Helicon Records Ltd. chairman and CEO Ron Baron.
Chosen.fm, a streaming video app for music and the performing arts, was founded by CTO Eyal Moshe. He previously founded two start-ups: a small records company and, with Recanti, CA Software Ltd. He was recently joined by David Hyman, who previously served as CEO of Beats Electronics Inc., a streaming video service operated by MOG Inc., which he founded and sold.
Chosen.fm has six employees at its Tel Aviv offices and four employees in San Francisco. .
"David Hyman, a music professional with a track record is without question an important contribution to the company," Moshe told "Globes". "The financing round led by Rhodium Ventures, which has had a number of recent successes, along with leading entertainment opinion-setters only strengthens our feeling that we are the road to success."
