Norway fund reinstates Africa-Israel boycott

"Reuters": The fund cites construction in settlements by Africa-Israel.

"Reuters" reports that Norway's Ministry of Finance has, for the second time, instructed the country's sovereign wealth fund not to invest in Africa-Israel Investments Ltd. (TASE:AFIL), controlled by chairman Lev Leviev, and its contracting arm, Danya Cebus Ltd. (TASE: DNYA) because of their involvement in the construction of settlements in the West Bank.

Africa Israel Investments and Danya Cebus were first excluded from the fund in 2010, but the ban was lifted last August.

In a statement, the Ministry of Finance said that government reinstated the exclusion "due to contribution to serious violations of individual rights in war or conflict through the construction of settlements in East Jerusalem."

Africa Israel Investments and Danya Cebus were unavailable for comment.
