Passengers travel for free on shuttle buses between Ashkelon and Sderot.

With the cease-fire between Israel and Hamas set to expire at midnight, the Ministry of Defense yesterday ordered Israel Railways to halt services on the line between Ashkelon and Sderot. The order was due to concerns that terror organizations in the Gaza Strip will try to hit trains using anti-tank missiles.

Israel Railways is today operating to shuttle buses transporting railway passengers for free between Ashkelon and Sderot. Throughout the fighting in Operation Protective Edge there were no train services between Ashkelon and Sderot.
