A renowned female model, one of the biggest stars in Israel, was interrogated today in the Tel Aviv offices of the Israel Tax Authority on suspicion of tax evasion. The celebrity cannot be named.
She is the latest in a series of well-known personalities interrogated by the Tax Authority in recent years for tax violations, with indictments being filed against some of them. These include Israeli singer Eyal Golan, who confessed in a plea bargain and was convicted of a series of tax violations; singer Moshe Peretz and his manager, Amnon Zandani, who are accused of tax evasion totaling NIS 1 million; and singer Kobi Peretz, who is awaiting a verdict in the Tel Aviv Magistrates Court in a case in which he is accused of tax evasion amounting to millions of shekels.
The Tax Authority is conducting another investigation against singer Yishai Levi, and Tax Authority sources told "Globes" that additional covert investigations were constantly taking place.
The Tax Authority said, "For reasons of confidentiality, we do not answer questions about investigations."
